Talking Planet develops language skills naturally the way we all learn to speak our first language - through context, sentence expansion and repetition (Total Physical Response).
Talking Planet currently has a library of 5 episodes, each written to deliver key vocabulary around the daily routines of young children and their families. Each episode introduces approximately 30-40 words, depending on the language used.
Each language version of Talking Planet is created as an intergenerational skill-sharing partnership with the communities involved. We collaborate closely and respectfully with Language Keepers and linguists at every stage of production to ensure each episode is as authentic and accurate as possible. The voices are recorded using real children from the communities, coached by their Elders.

Our story
Talking Planet is the brainchild of company founder Cadi Catlow and was created originally in 2019 to help refugee children from Syria settle into Flemish-speaking schools.
Cadi drew on her 25 year career as an animator in children's TV and her lived experience supporting her hearing impaired daughter to create a show that could deliver language learning to children from any background or culture.
Cadi has been passionate about languages throughout her whole life. Being Welsh, she has witnessed the success story of her own cultural language over the past decades, and many years living abroad have given her an insight into the common challenges experienced by people trying to learn languages.
